This is a league decision, not a district decision.
October is Washington State Eat Local Month, and Concrete School District students are celebrating with a special Taste Washington Day lunch featuring fresh, locally grown and produced foods.
The menu includes apple kielbasa, braised cabbage and apples, corn on the cob, a dinner roll, and fresh carrots, apples, and blueberries.
The meal highlights just how close some of our food is grown and produced. Ingredients came from Concrete Farm to School, located just 500 feet away, as well as 5Bs Bakery, Blue Heron Farm, Sauk Farm, and Well Fed Farms — all within 30 miles of our schools.
Taste Washington Day is more than a special lunch. It helps students connect the food they eat with agriculture, local producers, and the community around them. It also highlights the work happening through Concrete's Farm to School program to bring locally grown food and hands on learning opportunities to our students.
We appreciate our Food Services and Farm to School teams and the local producers who help make these opportunities possible.

Early Dismissal on Friday, October 9, 2026
Concrete Elementary School and Concrete High School conduct the Leader in Me Measurable Results Assessment (MRA) twice each school year.
The MRA is completed by students, staff, and families and provides information about leadership, school culture, and academics. The results allow our schools to identify strengths, monitor progress over time, and identify areas for continued growth.
Students will receive survey links in their classes and complete the survey during the school day. Families will receive survey information and a link through ParentSquare.
Family participation is especially important. A greater number of responses gives us a more representative picture of our families' experiences and perspectives.
We appreciate our students, staff, and families taking the time to provide feedback and help guide our continued improvement.
