Twin Cedars High School (Grades 9–12)

Re-engagement and Credit Recovery Program

Overview: The district is also exploring the relaunch of Twin Cedars High School as a flexible high school program designed for students who need individualized support, alternative scheduling, or pathways to recover credit and graduate on time.

Possible Features:

  • Would serve students in grades 9–12.
  • Could combine online coursework (such as Edgenuity) with in-person instruction and small-group tutoring.
  • Focused on credit recovery, career readiness, and postsecondary planning.
  • Students would meet regularly with a certificated teacher and counselor to review goals and progress.
  • Classes and study sessions may be held in the Board Room or Middle School building, depending on space availability.

Who This Could Serve:

  • Students who need flexible scheduling due to work, family, or personal circumstances.
  • Students who have fallen behind in credits or prefer a smaller learning environment.
  • Families seeking an alternative to Open Doors or virtual-only programs outside the district.

Concrete Connections Academy (K–12)

Proposed Parent Partnership Program

Overview: The district is exploring the creation of a K–12 Parent Partnership Program called Concrete Connections Academy. This program would offer families a hybrid learning model that blends at-home instruction with on-site enrichment and support. It is designed for families who want greater flexibility in how their students learn while maintaining a strong connection to the district.

Possible Features:

  • Open to students in grades K–12.
  • Combines home-based learning with weekly on-site classes.
  • Students and parents collaborate with a certificated teacher to develop a Written Student Learning Plan (WSLP).
  • Access to district resources such as counseling, assessments, and extracurricular opportunities.
  • Could be located in the former Head Start portable, which may be converted into a small learning center for parent and student use.
  • Families maintain regular contact with district staff to ensure progress and support.

Who This Could Serve:

  • Families currently homeschooling who wish to partner with the district.
  • Students who benefit from flexible scheduling or smaller group instruction.
  • Parents who want a more active role in their child’s learning within a public-school framework.
