New Communication Platform: ParentSquare
As part of our broader efforts to modernize systems and improve communication, Concrete School District is adopting ParentSquare as our primary communication tool for the 2025–2026 school year.
ParentSquare provides a secure, centralized platform for two-way communication between the district, schools, and families. It allows messages to be sent via email, text, app notification, or phone, and automatically translates messages into each user's preferred language. This ensures all families receive timely, clear, and accessible communication—whether it’s a school announcement, attendance notice, or classroom update.
We will be using all features of ParentSquare except the website. Families can access everything they need through the ParentSquare mobile app or email notifications.
ParentSquare is already in use in many districts across the state and has been shown to improve parent engagement, reduce missed messages, and strengthen school-home partnerships. More information and how-to videos will be shared in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your flexibility and support as we prepare for these exciting upgrades. Together, these changes will help us build a more efficient, responsive, and connected school district.
Jul 18, 2025 · Concrete School DistrictUpcoming System Transition: Skyward SMS to Qmlativ
Concrete School District is transitioning from Skyward SMS 2.0 to Skyward Qmlativ in July 2025. This upgrade will enhance our student information, payroll, finance, and HR systems with a more modern, user-friendly platform.
Why This Change Is Happening
This change is necessary because the current Skyward SMS system is outdated and no longer supported for future upgrades. Qmlativ offers:
- Improved navigation
- Faster processing
- Better reporting tools
- A more intuitive experience for staff, students, and families
- A platform designed to meet the evolving needs of schools
This system will help us better manage and support day-to-day operations.
Training and Support
To support the transition:
- Training video modules will be made available to staff, students, and families
- Staff will receive role-specific training through a Training Learning Account (TLA), with hands-on experience tailored to their job responsibilities
“Dark Days” – Limited Access to Skyward
During final migration, both Skyward and Qmlativ will be offline:
- July 17, 2025 – Skyward Family Access disabled
- July 29, 2025 – All Skyward access and mobile app disabled
- July 30 – August 7 – No access to Skyward or Qmlativ
- August 7, 2025 – Qmlativ launches (finance only, limited staff access)
- August 7–15 – Data validation and post-migration setup
- August 20, 2025 – Qmlativ fully available for all users
Historical Access
After migration, Skyward will remain available in read-only mode for historical records.
