Playoff Basketball 2/6/2024

The Lions Boys and Girls basketball teams will both be playing in District 1 Basketball playoff games tomorrow, Tuesday, 2/6/24. The girls will play Lopez Island at Mt Vernon Christian @ 5:15 PM and the boys team will be hosting Providence Classical Christian in the CHS gym @ 6:00 PM. Prices are shown below, no passes accepted.  Come on out and root the Lions on to victory!!

  • Senior citizens, students with ASB, elementary students: $6.00

*This is a WIAA District 1 sanctioned event so we do not set the prices or decide which passes are valid, it is done by the WIAA.

Middle School Sports

Middle School wrestling will begin on Monday 2/5/24. Wrestlers are to meet near the HS Wrestling room at 3:20.

MS Girls Basketball will begin on Wednesday, 2/7/24. Basketball players are to meet at the Elementary School gym at 3:20.

Please be sure that all student athletes are registered on FinalForms and have a current Athletic Physical Exam on file.

District 1 Basketball Playoffs

District 1 Basketball Playoffs

The Lions Boys and Girls basketball teams will both be playing in District 1 play-in games on Thursday, 2/1/24 here at CHS. The boys team will meet Lopez Island HS at 4:30 and the girls squad will face off against Providence Classical Christian HS at 6:45 in the HS gym. The winner of each game will advance to the first round of the District 1 tournament on Saturday. Come on out and support your hometown Lions as they compete for a chance to make their way to Spokane for this years State Basketball Tournament.

Sportsmanship

Northwest A/B Sportsmanship
Examples of good sportsmanship: Examples of poor sportsmaship:
– applauding during the introduction of players – being disrespectful or derogatory toward opponents or referees
– giving verbal credit after a good play or action – refusing to shake hands or give recognition for good performances
– accepting all decisions by the officials with “class” – displaying anger that draws attention away from the game
– being positive toward own team – harassing opponents after the game outside  of the playing area (i.e. gym lobby)
– applauding at the end of the contest for both teams – distracting opponents (i.e. free throws)
– showing concern for injured players  
– shaking hands with opposing players and coaches following the game  
– encouraging surrounding people to be positive
